My Everyday Berry Smoothie Bowl

This smoothie bowl is a breakfast I have at least 4 times a week! It is such a delicious and nutritious way to start my day. I get tons of antioxidants and fiber from the berries, which fight off free radicals in my body and keep me full until lunch. I get a nice dose of vitamins such as folate, vitamin K, vitamin C and other minerals from the spinach. The cauliflower is a special ingredient that I include to add some bulk without the sugar. The cauliflower adds more antioxidants and fiber as well as vitamins such as B and C. The raw cacao adds a delicious deep chocolate flavor packed with minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron! Finally, the hemp seeds add a good source of protein and omega-3 fats. I love knowing that I’m starting my day with such a nutrient dense meal! I always have fun with the toppings and use fresh fruit, coconut strips, chia seeds, granola and whatever else I feel like throwing in there!

Tools:

  • High-powered blender or food processor

Ingredients

  • 1 hefty cup of mixed frozen berries

  • A handful of spinach

  • 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower

  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds

  • 1/4 cup plant milk (I used oat)

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients together until everything is well combined. Start on low and work your way up to a high power, tampering down as you go. If your blender can’t handle the thickness of the smoothie, just add in more plant milk gradually!

  2. Top with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, nut butter, coconut, anything that sounds fun! Enjoy!
